It is Bells's 17 year anniversary today. It is also Joyce and Jim's 34 year anniversary. We will celebrate by going to eat some delicious Italian food at an undisclosed location on Sunday night.

Yes, we have Eggplant Parmesan! It is grilled, topped with our marinara, some fresh basil and baked with mozzarella and parmesan. Come in or take out and enjoy. We will also have a designated parking space, right in front of the restaurant, for our take-out patrons. Last bit of news,over the next few weeks, dine in or take out patrons will get a $5.00 coupon which will be honored 7 days a week on orders of $25.00 or more.

Savannahians are nothing if they’re not predictable when it comes to their favorite watering holes and neighborhood restaurants, and Bella’s Italian Café isn’t kidding when they claim, “It’s where Savannah eats Italian.” With a corner on this market, and for the second year in a row, Bella’s takes the cake (Tiramisu, of course), along with the prize for best Italian cuisine.

 

Mangia Mangia!

I can still hear Grandma Bella calling out from the kitchen in her heavy voice to all of us at the dinner table, 'Mangia! Mangia!' It was the signal to put to my lips the best thing I had ever tasted -- and eat! As I got a bit older, I was permitted in the kitchen to learn from the master.

She always spoke especially loudly in her accented English when explaining a recipe -- very important matters demand full attention! I only hope I have done her recipes some justice here, and that our customers will enjoy this food as much as I do.
